TEEN STREET TEAM

Are you passionate about wildlife, conservation, and making a difference in your community? Youth aged 12–18 are invited to join the WRSOS Teen Street Team and become part of a new generation of wildlife ambassadors across Saskatchewan.

First Meeting: May 27 at 6:30 PM

Our first session will be a welcome and introduction to our Teen Street Team Lead, Clarence, along with a chance for members to help shape the future of the program. This team will be guided by the teens themselves, and we want your ideas and input from the very beginning.

What to Expect:

  • Monthly meetings

  • Online participation via Zoom beginning fully in September

  • Wildlife education and awareness

  • Leadership and advocacy opportunities

  • Community involvement and outreach

Our first meeting may also include seasonal wildlife education topics such as:

  • Why baby bunnies should be left alone

  • The importance of not disturbing nests

  • Why ducklings and goslings should not be “rescued”

  • Protecting den and nesting locations for wild animals

We’re excited to help build a team of informed, compassionate youth who can help promote safe and respectful coexistence with wildlife in their schools and communities. For more information, email wildchild@wrsos.org.

We acknowledge that in Saskatchewan we are on treaty land. These treaties serve to govern our relationships with Indigenous people. We live and work on Treaty 6 territory, which is the traditional territory of the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota and formerly Blackfoot. We also acknowledge the traditional homeland of the Métis and honour their contributions. We pay our respect to the First Nations and Métis ancestors of this place and reaffirm our relationship with one another and our cooperation to the stewardship of Saskatchewan wildlife.
