I am not a veterinarian or a licensed rehabber. I have no formal training in animal husbandry or medicine. I am probably more like you - someone with a love of nature and desire to foster the well being of wildlife.

I was born in North Battleford but I have lived most of my life in Saskatoon. Growing up I have many memories of camping and enjoying time spent in nature-observing wildlife. Our family raised canaries and at the very young age of 6 I cared for and raised Ring-neck doves. As a teenager I spent a lot of time volunteering at a veterinary clinic.

My exposure to medical assistance has been of the human sort-volunteering for several years with St. John Ambulance and, for a period of time, working as a 911 dispatcher. Currently I work at Pristine Countertop Distribution and enjoy my 4 year old son Zachariah. Zack and I feed wild birds in the winter and I try to share my love of nature with him.

Getting involved in the WRSOS gives me an opportunity to learn and volunteer in something I think will make a difference. I am looking forward to being involved in the hotline and rehab training so that I too can help Keep Saskatchewan Wildlife Wild!
